Sergio Garcia - Masters Champion

Sergio Garcia is a major champion at long last. The best player never to win a major is no more, or at least somebody else will have to adopt this dubious honour.

At Augusta National in April Sergio Garcia put his long, long wait to win won of golf's four biggest individual titles behind him with a steely show of resolve that saw off the strong challenge of fellow European star Justin Rose. 74th time lucky.

Following his long awaited and much deserved victory at the year's opening major, Sergio Garcia has been giving the famous green jacket some serious exposure. He has, as is always the case for a new Masters champion, had an enormous amount of media commitments to fulfill since breaking his duck but has also found time to head home to Spain to show off his prize to many of those who have supported him the most over the years.

While back on home soil Sergio Garcia performed the ceremonial kick off ahead of El Clasico at the famous Santiago Bernabeu, where his beloved Real Madrid were taking on their arch-rivals FC Barcelona and he also headed back to where it all started for him as a golfer, his home club in Castellon.

We were lucky enough to be in attendance at this grand return where we had the honour of speaking to Sergio one-on-one, as well as some of his nearest and dearest, about his magical week at the Masters and his long road to becoming a major champion.
