Golfing World Podcast - Pilot Recording 3 - A-low-ha round helps Justin Thomas to Hawaii double

Our third and final Golfing World Podcast pilot recording saw Matt Rose step into the firing line as Presenter for the first time, a third call-up for Jack Hayward and a first outing for our resident American, John Grabowski.

The lads weren't short of talking points this week as Justin Thomas fired a fearless opening round of 59 at the Sony Open to help him to a second straight PGA TOUR victory on the mini Hawaii swing. They even squeezed in a quick phone call with Golfing World assistant producer Ollie Loe who was out in Hawaii for both of Thomas' triumphs and interviewed him the day before his blistering 59.

Also on the agenda was Graeme Storm's incredible playoff victory over Rory McIlroy at the BMW SA Open, which came just a matter of months after Storm thought he'd lost his European Tour card. The chat about Storm's sensational return to winning ways included a clip from our interview with Graeme Storm for the Golfing World tv show, which was filmed out on the course ahead of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, just two days after his big win in South Africa. Watch the interview in full below.

The latest recording also featured, as ever, a look ahead to the latest episode of the Golfing World tv show, which airs on Tuesday on Sky Sports 4HD in the UK and on the Golf Channel in the USA on Wednesday.

The podcast featured a clip of our very frank and honest recent chat with the always entertaining Ian Poulter, which you can watch below. In this interview Poults opens up to us about the most challenging year of his career to date and his desire to recapture his best form in 2017.

The boys also discussed the first in our new series of Greats of the Game, a look at some of golf's modern day heroes, which begins by focusing its attentions on the one and only Tiger Woods. You can watch Simon Holmes' look back at the Tiger glory years and the evolution of his iconic golf swing and style of play below.

Next up for us is our first official episode of the Golfing World Podcast! We can't wait to get going for real and to hearing your feedback. We promise to let you know know more when we know for sure when the launch date will be. Until then...

Golfing World Podcast - Pilot recording 2 - 2016 review

Our second Golfing World Podcast record saw Mick Le Mare return for his second consecutive outing in the Presenter hot seat, another second-timer in Jack Hayward and a debut for Golfing World Producer Rob Phillips-Knight.

Given the timing of this record the guys thought it best to focus their attentions on the year that was.

Our trio looked back on an incredibly exciting year of golfing action, including all major championships (men's and women's) and the the USA's impressive Ryder Cup triumph at Hazeltine National.

The guys also found time to indulge in another spot of 'Golf Maths', a first crack at the 'Who am I?' game and a look back at some of their Golfing World tv highlights of 2016. Rob's standout highlight from his travels in 2016 was the time he spent with Lee Westwood's caddie Billy Foster, a man who has also carried the bag for the likes of Seve Ballesteros and Darren Clarke. You can watch the interview that was teased in the podcast in full below.

Jack's choices when it came to Golfing World highlights of 2016 were our two interviews with Olympic champion Justin Rose. We were lucky enough to have a couple of great chats with Justin during 2016, first of all ahead of Rio 2016 and then again late in the year at the UBS Hong Kong Open in which he discussed with us just how much it means to him to have triumphed at the Olympics. You can watch both interviews in full below.

Thanks once again for listening the Golfing World Podcast and for reading these show notes. We plan to return soon with a third and final pilot record before kicking things off for real in the near future.

Golfing World Podcast - Pilot Episode 1 - On safari with Andrew 'Beef' Johnston

The first ever pilot recording for the Golfing World Podcast featured Presenter and Golfing World team member Mick Le Mare and a panel consisting of Golfing World Senior Producer Danny Prior and fellow team member Jack Hayward. You can listen to this pilot below.

In the first episode the guys looked back on a busy week of golf across the world's major tours. The week in question included Alex Noren's stunning fourth European Tour victory of the season at the Nedbank Golf Challenge, a long-awaited return to the PGA TOUR's 'Winners' Circle' for Pat Perez and victory for Carlota Ciganda in Mexico at the LPGA's Lorena Ochoa Invitational.

Not only did our trio of podcasters discuss the week's action but they also looked ahead to the latest episode of Golfing World, which airs on Tuesday on Sky Sports 4HD in the UK and on the Golf Channel in the USA on Wednesday.

You will find videos of full interviews and features that were teased on the podcast embedded within these show notes, including our Big Interview out on safari in South Africa with Andrew 'Beef' Johnston and the latest part of our golf instruction series with six-time major champion, Sir Nick Faldo, which focuses on improving alignment.

We hope you enjoyed listening to the first pilot. We hope to bring you more pilot recordings very soon before publishing our first official episode.
