Jason Day has pulled out of the Open Championship next week after becoming a father for the first time.
Wife Ellie gave birth to son Dash in Ohio this week and the Australian has decided to give the golf tournament at Royal Lytham and St Annes a miss.
"Obviously I'd love to be playing in the British Open but as I've said all along family comes first," Day told AAP.
Meanwhile, another Australian, Marc Leishman, has confirmed he will make the trip to Lancashire after getting the all-clear to travel.
The winner of the Travelers Championship in June is applying for a green card from the US government, which normally restricts overseas travel during the processing period.
"It's all official, they rushed it through and it's all good," he said.
Former Open winner Mark O'Meara has already withdrawn from this year's event and current US Open champion Webb Simpson is expected to follow suit, as his wife is expecting the couple's second child.
