World number one Yani Tseng is aiming to win the HSBC Women's Champions in Singapore, one of the handful of tournaments she is yet to triumph in.

The 23-year-old Taiwanese star heads into this week's event on top of her game after conquering the Honda LPGA Thailand tournament.

However, she is yet to win the Singapore event and is up against an elite field that includes 18 of the world's top 20 players.

"Every year I have come closer and closer to winning this tournament," said Tseng.

"I feel very good right now and I feel I have a good chance to win this tournament if I keep on doing the things I'm doing. I'm confident in my skills."

Tseng will also have to contend with an aching right arm that forced her to withdraw from the pro-am event this week.

She told reporters, however, that a sticking plaster would "fix" the problem.

Defending champion Karrie Webb is among an elite field competing for the $1.4 million purse on the par-72 Tanah Merah Country Club course.

Suzann Pettersen, Na Yeon Choi, Cristie Kerr, Paula Creamer and last week's runner-up, Ai Miyazato, are some of the other contenders this week, as the LPGA Tour completes its early-season Asian swing.
