Caroline Hedwall has completed an historic double by becoming the first player to be named both Ladies European Tour Player of the Year for 2011 and pick up the Rolex Rookie of the Year award in the same season.

The 22-year-old from Barseback in Sweden has a stunning one-in-five record on the Tour, winning four events out of the 20 she entered all year.

She also played a key role in Europe's victorious Solheim Cup team, picking up 2.5 points.

"To be honest, I hardly can believe this year," said Hedwall. "I mean it's just been so good, and if you told me I would have won four times on the LET, I probably wouldn't believe you, so it's just been unbelievable."

After winning the LET Final Qualifying School by nine shots in December of last year, she kicked off 2011 with a victory at the New South Wales Open on her professional debut on the Australian Ladies Professional Golf Tour.

Her most recent win came at the Hero Women's Indian Open, which followed victories at the Allianz Ladies Slovak Open, the Finnair Masters and the UNIQA Ladies Golf Open presented by Raiffeisen in Austria.
